“UC-Hastings law professor Robin Feldman said she believes the court will eventually address when, if ever, software is patentable. ‘If I had to bet, I would say not this year,’ she added.”

“Hastings’ Feldman said laches is an important tool for fighting nonpracticing entities that wait for products to become enormously successful and profitable before bringing a patent suit. ‘The Supreme Court has shown concerns about patent trolling in recent decisions,’ she said.”
